Information & Reminders
- ATTENDANCE: A reminder that any child with an attendance figure of 90% or below falls into the persistent absence bracket as identified by the Government. We will be changing our procedure to send out attendance concern letters every two weeks, to remind parents of the attendance figures and you may be invited into school to attend an attendance review meeting.
- ABSENCE: Absence at COPA due to unauthorised family holidays is twice that of the national average and this is not acceptable. Please be reminded that holidays should not be taken during term time; these will be unauthorised and penalty notices applied. There are 13 weeks during the year, free for holidays as shown on our website and on your MCAS Academic Calendar tab. We would urge you to consider the social & emotional effect this has on children, as well as how it impacts on their academic progress.
- WRAPAROUND CHILDCARE: A reminder that bookings for Term 5 BC and ASP close on Monday 27/03/23 to facilitate queries and amendments before the end of the term. Please make sure that your account is clear for Term 4 before booking for Term 5..
- ACTIVITY CLUBS: There are still some spaces left in our Term 5 Activity Clubs which will close for bookings on Monday 27th March.
- COOKING CLUB: We are aware from parents that many children have been disappointed they have been unable to get into cooking club all year; you will appreciate that we cannot put any controls on who books up each term as this is on a first come first served basis. We are looking at ways to try to give more opportunities to those that have never been able to book and will be trialling the release of a waiting list for Term 4 which we will work through for the rest of this academic year, to see if this gives a greater opportunity to more pupils through the year.
- CASHLESS: A reminder that we are a cashless school and all school clubs, trips and workshops should be paid online via your MCAS App. Any cash will be returned and an order created onto your MCAS account where you will also need to tick to consent to the trip.
